Echocardiogram: 8/2/04
PERFORMED: 0626 The aortic root is normal in size. The leaflets are thick. Opening appears to be normal. Left atrium is mildly enlarged. Left ventricle appears to be normal. Estimated ejection fraction is about 55% to 60%. The mitral valve shows some degenerative changes and some mitral annular thickening; however, there is no mitral valve prolapse. Right ventricle and right atrium appear to be normal in size. There are no pericardial effusions DOPPLER: There is a trace degree of mitral regurgitation, a mild degree of tricuspid regurgitation. Pulmonary artery pressure estimated to be about 45 mmHg, which is slightly elevated. A very small gradient was found across the aortic valve of 12 mm, peak 16, with aortic valve area calculated to be 1.7 cm2. CONCLUSIONS: 1. Insignificant aortic stenosis. 2. Tricuspid regurgitation with pulmonary hypertension. 3. Normal systolic funciton of the left ventricle without any regional wall motion abnormalities and left ventricular hypertrophy. |
